20% Project—Week 1

This is my first week on the 20% project and I picked rock climbing and to get to a v3. This week I had a bit of a struggle picking what to do for that day but when I researched I found that there are many different types of rock climbing holds and they are Crimp holds, pockets, jugs, kids, slopers, foot holds, pinches, rails, roof jugs, volumes, and features. The v in v3 means level so v3 would mean level 3 and i have completed other levels like the ones before v0, v1, and v2. Crimp holds are small and don’t have too much space to fit your fingers. Pockets are holds that have holes in them to usually fit one or two fingers. Jugs are holds that have indents in the top of them to hold onto as your climbing up. Kids holds are colorful holds that are randomly shaped. Sloped holds are holds that are big and don’t have much grip, they are usually flat and curved. Foot homes are holds that are small and you use them for your foot, they are tiny and your can barely get any grip on them. Pinches are holds that are kind-of thick and you use your whole hand and grip them side ways like in the opposite direction that you would give a high-five. Rails are holds that have a flat top and a random curvy bottom. Roof jug hold are holds that have big indents in them like jugs but they are on the ceiling of the rock climbing wall when you have to climb up, back, then up. Volume holds are holds that have a sharp edge and are big, they come in different sizes and shapes, most of the time the are triangles. And last but not least the feature holds, they are holds that seem regular but they have holes on the middle that you could fit fingers in. That was my progress for this week.

  1. You shared a lot about what you learned but did not follow the rubric. Please look at it each week when you do this assignment.
