20% project week 5

my topic for this project is rock climbing and getting to a v3. This week I had a little struggle but then I watched a video in class about climbing. Last weekend I went rock climbing and I did a lot of good climbs. I also did the same camp and did the grip strengtheners. While I was at the rock climbing place I went to the workout area and did the treadmill and lifted weights and did other exercises. At the camp we did pushups, sit-ups, bear crawls, sprints, squat holds, up-downs, planks, and much more. Also I went climbing to reach my goal, we asked for the easiest v3 and I did that one and I got so close I almost had it. I got to the top but I thought that I had to tap it but I actually had to put both hands on it and hold it. I took a break and did the treadmill on the work out area. Then I was determined to Meet my goal and I got super close but on the last one I tore my hands up and took out one of my chalices. So i was done Alfred that but I will next time meet my goal. Next week I will be doing the same stuff and meet my goal.

Rad Reading- April

This month I finished “The Maze Runner” By James Dashner. It was a very good book and I would definitely recommend it to people that like action and drama. For a rating I would give it a 9/10 I really liked it. I also watched the movie. The plot takes place in a maze that is very hard to get out of. In the book they try to find a way out and it is filled with many different genres and a lot of times leaves you on crazy cliffhangers. This book is a book that you can read for hours. My favorite character is Chuck and he is my favorite because he is a fat little kid that is funny. His job in the glade is called a slopper and a slopper does the work that no one else wants to, like cleaning the toilets. A quote that Chuck said in the book is “ ‘ think about it. Our memories are wiped. We live inside a place that seems to have no way out, surrounded by bloodthirsty monster-guards. Doesn’t that sound like a prison to you?’ As he said it out loud, it sounded more and more possible.” I liked that quote because I shows just how crazy the maze is. My favorite quote from the novel is “ Be careful, don’t die.” I liked it because it is a dumb uninspiring speech that I don’t why the character said it.

20% project— week 4

My topic for this project is rock climbing and this week I had a struggle of what to do in class so i just watched a couple videos and did more quizzes. This time i was acing every quiz that i took i am really starting to know the rock climbing holds and techniques. The video that i watched was about how to get into climbing v3s and 4s since I’m doing a v3 i watched the right video. In the video it explained how to change feet to different spots and there is a technique called smearing and when you smear you put one foot off the hold and push very hard on your foot to stay on the wall. Also at home i used these grip strengtheners, there is a gray one an orange one and a green one. The order of easiest to hardest is gray, green then orange. I normally use the gray because the other ones are really hard. The quizzes iu took were all different and i did great on all of them, i also tried them on different quiz sites such as blooket, gimkit, quizzing and kahoot. I also went to the foot ball camp again. Next week i will be doing most of the same things and also i will be going climbing.

20% Project—Week 3

My topic for this project is rock climbing. This week I created a quiz but I only put 8 or 9 questions so I am not done. I also took that quiz multiple times and I got 98%, 95% and others in the 90%’s. Also this week I went to the same football conditioning camp, we did squats with the bars, stairs, and lunges with weights. We also did a lot of agility exercises. We played sharks and Minos as well. Also I used a grip strengthened at my house, there are three different types easy, medium, and hard i use the easy one because the other ones are hard and I wasn’t able to do them. I also have been doing basketball practice and we do things like push-ups and jump ropes. That is all I did this week and for next week I don’t know what I will do yet in class but I do know that I will go rock climbing this weekend and then I could write about it and take more videos.

My Favorite Room in my House

My favorite room in my house is my room. It is my favorite room because it is where I sleep. I have a grey bed with grey sheets and it is raised for some reason but I like it because I am short and It makes me feel taller, and it is just cool to be up higher.my second reason that I like my room the most is because I have my Xbox in my room with a tv, and on my Xbox I can play games in my room like Fortnite. Also a reason that it is good to have it in my room is that if my dad is going to sleep and I can ask him if if an stay up longer and play games, then I can just go straight to bed after playing some video games. I can watch tv as well. Also in the morning after my dad wakes me up I can sometimes get up and Play games. My third reason is because I have board games in my room that I can play if I am not able to play video games. Those are three reasons why my room is my favorite room in my house.

20% Project Week 2

My 20% project topic is rock climbing and this week I went to a conditioning camp on Monday and Wednesday. We did different workouts and some were to strengthen arms and legs. It will help me with my rock climbing ability so that I am stronger with pulling myself up the climbing wall. I didn’t have much struggle this week except after about an hour of climbing it starts to really hurt on my hands and then I just get tired. In class this week I took a quiz about rock climbing and I practiced it a couple times I got 98% most times I did it because every once in a while I would get lazy and not read the full answer. On Saturday I went rock climbing and I did v0s and v1s. Next week I am going to be doing the same thing Mondays and Wednesdays I will be doing the football conditioning camp and on Saturday I will probably rock climb again.

A Regular Day?

When I woke up, I did everything I would do on a normal day. But on my walk to school I saw a platypus running around in the street jumping on cars, I was confused. Once I got to school it was normal but when I got to wood shop the teacher told us to reform our projects. We all were clueless on what we were supposed to do, but then he gave us instructions so we followed along. In tutorial I went to science and the teacher taught us how to make a casement, no clue why. The day had been super weird so far and I didn’t know why, but that I did know was that something was up. I walked home with my step brother and sister, it was like any other day but when we got home our parents were gone! We were kind-of happy but kind-of scared. But anyways, we were having fun and we were going crazy, we ate tons of candy and watched tv. We mainly just did things that we couldn’t when our parents were there. Eventually it got towards bed time and we went to bed without our parents and we were happy.

20% Project—Week 1

This is my first week on the 20% project and I picked rock climbing and to get to a v3. This week I had a bit of a struggle picking what to do for that day but when I researched I found that there are many different types of rock climbing holds and they are Crimp holds, pockets, jugs, kids, slopers, foot holds, pinches, rails, roof jugs, volumes, and features. The v in v3 means level so v3 would mean level 3 and i have completed other levels like the ones before v0, v1, and v2. Crimp holds are small and don’t have too much space to fit your fingers. Pockets are holds that have holes in them to usually fit one or two fingers. Jugs are holds that have indents in the top of them to hold onto as your climbing up. Kids holds are colorful holds that are randomly shaped. Sloped holds are holds that are big and don’t have much grip, they are usually flat and curved. Foot homes are holds that are small and you use them for your foot, they are tiny and your can barely get any grip on them. Pinches are holds that are kind-of thick and you use your whole hand and grip them side ways like in the opposite direction that you would give a high-five. Rails are holds that have a flat top and a random curvy bottom. Roof jug hold are holds that have big indents in them like jugs but they are on the ceiling of the rock climbing wall when you have to climb up, back, then up. Volume holds are holds that have a sharp edge and are big, they come in different sizes and shapes, most of the time the are triangles. And last but not least the feature holds, they are holds that seem regular but they have holes on the middle that you could fit fingers in. That was my progress for this week.

If I Could Invite Any Three People to Dinner

There are many people in the world that I would like to meet and have dinner but these are three that I would like to bring with me to dinner.

The first person would be my friend Jensen because he’s my best friend and we get along well.

The next person I would invite is Ray Allen because he is my favorite basketball player of all time and I love basketball. It would also be cool to meet him and maybe play basketball with him. And Ray Allen is the second best three point shooter of all time.

My last person I would bring is my favorite actor Ryan Reynolds’s because I love all the movies I’ve seen with him in it. I would also like to see him react to his movies he made because I wonder if he likes his movies or not and what he thinks of them.

I would go to my favorite restaurant called Reunion it is super good they have all kinds of foods like burgers, sandwiches, salads, ribs, steaks, and many other things.

Those are the three people I would invite to dinner and why.

Rad Reading- March

This month I read the maze runner by James Dashner I am not finished but I’m on page 265 and the book is about a boy named Thomas who comes up in a box in to a glade surrounded by a maze and he tries to find a way out. My favorite character was Minho because he is cool and strong plus he is the keeper of the runners which are the people that go into the maze. A quote that he said is “ it’s kind of hard to ask a dead guy what he did wrong” i liked that quote because he was being sarcastic and that is funny. My favorite quote was “ if you ain’t scared you ain’t human” and I like scary movies and books and this is telling me that whatever is in the maze is scary.
